As we transition into July I find I am enjoying the silent rhythm of Summer and diving into a variety of projects.
I am having a ball taking on-line art classes. Jane Des Rosier has done it again with another awesome on-line tutorial/class for her table leg flower head dolls. I enjoyed her Cloth and Clay Doll class so much, I immediately enrolled in this one. I am a complete novice to the world of clay and found comfort in her relaxed, yet enthusiastic nature of instruction. For more information on Jane's classes, check out her class site Something to Make or her blog.
WIP-Flower Head Dolls
Here is my interpretation of Jane's Table legdolls. As you can tell I need to work on my sculpting, but over all I am pleased with the results. I am always amazed how some folks can look at something such as a table leg and make it into a doll. I find I often think too much inside the box when it comes to an items function. My little flower heads are definitely a work in process. I have yet to finish their embellishments.
I have also been working on a few free form embroidery projects as well as putting the finishing touches on an upcoming Poe exchange.
Wishing you all a happy, creative, & artful weekend!

I think these are just great Pilar!! And loooove the freeform embroidery
